Mini U7 to U10

Registration for U7-10 Mini outdoor soccer typically begins in November/January each year on a first come basis. Those registered prior to January 31st will be placed on a team and receive an Early Bird Discount. Those that register after February 1st will be placed on a wait list prior to being placed on a team.

Teams are formed by the Clubs.

Maximum number of players on a team:

U7/8 teams: 18 players per team

U9/10 teams: 16 players per team

Teams usually practice one evening per week and have a game every Saturday starting when the fields open (typically early/mid April) until the end of June, we take the summer off and then return after Labor Day weekend until the year end tournament on the weekend before Thanksgiving.

U7/U8 TEAMS (maximum 18 players per team) play 4v4 with two GAMES that are each 2 halves of 12 minutes (48 minute total game time).
Please help set up and put away the nets at all locations - not just your 'home' field. Coaches are NOT allowed on the field. When two scheduled teams arrive at the game field, they split into two groups and play two simultaneous games and after the first 2 halves are played, one team switches fields. GOALS MAY NOT BE SCORED WITHIN THE GOAL AREA.

U9/10 TEAMS (maximum 16 payers per team) play 7v7. Games are two 25 minute halves.
There is a huge size difference between many of the fields and goals we are using but unfortunately there are not enough fields of the recommended size to use. Sometimes they are larger and sometimes they are smaller. Teams must make-do with the fields as assigned. Some fields will be lined, others will be need to be marked with cones.

ABSENT OR MISSING REF PROCEDURE - Due to the shortage of fields and officials, games will not be rescheduled due to the absence of a referee. If no referee is available for a game, the coaches of the teams must agree to appoint someone to officiate that game. ALL GAMES MUST START ON TIME.

THE BASIC COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT of a player is mandated by FIFA Law#4 and comprises the following separate items: A jersey, shorts, soccer socks, shin guards and footwear.

SPECTATORS: where practical, spectators are to be on the opposite side of field than the teams (and not behind the goals) for all U9 & up games. It is the responsibility of the coaching staff to ensure this happens.

Jewellery is NOT permitted (even if covered with tape). This includes piercings.
This ruling comes down from the governing body of all soccer: FIFA. The specific rule is noted below.
Law 4 - The Players' Equipment
1. Safety
A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous.
All items of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather bands, rubber bands, etc.) are forbidden and must be removed. Using tape to cover jewellery is not permitted.
The players must be inspected before the start of the match and substitutes before they enter the field of play. If a player is wearing or using unauthorised/ dangerous equipment or jewellery the referee must order the player to:
· remove the item
· leave the field of play at the next stoppage if the player is unable or unwilling to comply
A player who refuses to comply or wears the item again must be cautioned.
